Rome is the most fascinating city in the world and on

this eight-day tour you’ll see for yourself. We’ll see the greatest churches (St. Peter’s,  St. Mary major, St. John Lateran, etc.) the Vatican museums (including the Sistine Chapel and the Raphael rooms), the Pantheon, the Coliseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill, the Trevi Fountain, and the Spanish Steps. We’ll visit St. Peter’s grave, and we’ll visit the catacombs. We’ll see great works of art by the greatest Renaissance and Baroque masters, including Michelangelo, Raphael, and Bernini. If the Popes in the city, we’ll get his blessing in St. Peter’s Square. And for those who are willing, we’ll attend Sunday evening vespers in St. Peter’s. Our lodging is a wonderful two-star hotel Ron spent 10 nights in, a hotel recommended by Rick Steves and Frommers. It’s in the heart of Rome. The tour price includes round-trip air from Spokane, seven nights’ lodging , and admission to the Vatican Museums, the Coliseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill, St. Peter’s grave in the necropolis below St. Peter’s, the catacombs, and the Borghese Gallery. In addition, the trip will be fully escorted by Ron, who has been the tour manager on several art history tours of Rome. There will be quite a bit of walking each day.

MOUNT RUSHMORE, CRAZY HORSE &  MORE

Our spacious, video and restroom equipped Motorcoach will leave Spokane at 8:00am on Sunday for the legendary Black Hills of South Dakota.  After an en route hotel and breakfast we will continue, have Dinner and check into a hotel at our destination.  The next morning we will learn the history of and view Mount Rushmore, then enjoy a tour of Wildlife Loop Road at Custer State Park and Dinner.  On day 4 after breakfast we will go to the High Plains Western Heritage Center and then head to Deadwood,S.D., former home of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane – now the location of gaming establishments in restored historic hotels & saloons. Enjoy a guided tour, have some gaming excitement and then Dinner.  On day 5 we go to the unique Journey Museum for the complete history of the mystical Black Hills, then prepare for the inspirational sight of the Crazy Horse Memorial and that evening enjoy Dinner and entertainment. Day 6 after the Trail End Historic Site we will relax at our en route Hotel.  Day 7 we depart for home.
